Find out more about how Big Lottery funding is being used in Northumberland.
Big Lottery Fund ‘Building Better Opportunities’ is a £3.5 million opportunity for Northumberland. Funded by Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund (ESF), it will offer wide-ranging support to those with the fewest potential job opportunities by addressing four areas:
- barriers to employment
- health barriers to employment
- financial inclusion
- digital inclusion
Northumberland County Council is looking to lead a wide-reaching consortium of partners to deliver support across the county, where voluntary and community sector (VCS) partners will play a core role in delivering services.
Following a period of open consultation, Northumberland Council has sought a range of delivery partners, including a ‘sponsor organisation’ and a small number of ‘host organisations.’
We have established a steering group to help us develop the model for support and for the bid itself. The steering group is comprised of Northumberland-based organisations offering strategic input to help us shape our model and how we will determine the core delivery partners.
We hope to hear back on the progress of the bid in the next couple of months and will update partners as soon as we know anything definite.
